Gophers sophomore forward Jordan Murphy was chosen as co-winner of the Big Ten men's basketball player of the week award.

It is Murphy's first time receiving the honor; he shared it with Michigan's Derrick Walton Jr.

Murphy, a San Antonio native, led the Gophers victories last week over Iowa and Rutgers, posting double-doubles in each game. On Wednesday in the two-overtime victory against the Hawkeyes, Murphy scored a career-high 25 points on 10-for-13 shooting, adding 19 rebounds and four blocks in 39 minutes.

On Saturday at Rutgers, Murphy scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
