Former Vikings All-Pro linebacker Chad Greenway will receive the Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian Award from the Big Ten Conference for his off-the-field work following his college career at Iowa.

And former Wisconsin defensive back Troy Vincent, a five-time Pro Bowl pick in the NFL, will be given the Big Ten's Ford-Kinnick Leadership Award.

Greenway, a four-year letter winner and All-America player for the Hawkeyes in 2004 and 2005, spent 11 seasons with the Vikings.

He was a fixture in the Twin Cities during his professional career, earning the NFL Players Association's Byron "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year Award in 2015.

In 2008, Greenway and his wife, Jenni, a former Iowa track standout, established the Lead The Way Foundation, offering daily support and life-changing experiences to chronically and critically ill and physically-challenged children in the Twin Cities area. Since its inception, the Lead The Way Foundation has raised more than $2 million in donations and assisted nearly 375,000 people through a variety of outreach programs.

On Twitter, Greenway (@chadgreenway52) said: "Honored to receive the Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian award from the B1G Conference. I am always proud to rep @IowaFootball and @Vikings and be a community leader through our @LeadtheWay52. Thanks to so many. #gohawks #skol"

Vincent played 15 seasons in the NFL after being taken with the No. 7 overall pick in the 1992 draft by Miami. He played a significant leadership role with the NFL Players Association as the group's president from 2004-08. He also became a national advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, resulting in his selection for two NFL Man of the Year awards following the 2002 season.
