The Minnesota Opera's 2007 world-premiere production of "The Grapes of Wrath" is now available as a live recording on the PS Classics label.

Compiled from digital recordings of five of the Ordway Center performances in February 2007, the 3-CD set, including production photos and a full libretto, is on sale at stores and online retailers for $39.98.

It will be available Nov. 4 for digital downloading at such sites as iTunes and eMusic.

"The Grapes of Wrath," adapted from the John Steinbeck novel by composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Michael Korie, premiered at the Ordway in St. Paul. In reviewing the opera, former Star Tribune critic Michael Anthony called it "a splendid, almost perfect production of an opera that is smart, funny, touching and harrowing."

"The Grapes of Wrath," a co-commission of Minnesota Opera and Utah Symphony and Opera, continues to be performed elsewhere. Pittsburgh Opera opens a production in mid-November.
