Minnesota's own Josh Holmes was named chief of staff on Thursday for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Holmes, who grew up in Minnetonka and graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1997, will oversee McConnell's Senate office in Washington.
Holmes previously worked for former Sen. Norm Coleman's Senate campaign in 2002, and joined Coleman's office as a legislative aide until 2004. He started working for McConnell's office in 2007.
Holmes isn't the only Minnesotan with a high post in Republican Senate leadership: Wayzata native Lisa Wolski is chief of staff for Arizona Sen. John Kyl's minority whip office.
