Minnesota Duluth took over sole possession of first place in the NSIC North Division with a 17-0 victory over host Bemidji State on Thursday.

The Bulldogs (7-2, 5-0 NSIC North), ranked No. 24 in the D2football.com poll, limited the Beavers to 50 total yards and three first downs. It was UMD's third shutout in a row. The Beavers (6-3, 4-1) had scored at least 40 points in each of their past five games.

Anthony Wood rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs. Wood scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and a 16-yard run in the second as the Bulldogs built a 14-0 halftime lead.

Dan Branger's 22-yard field goal capped a 19-play, 86-yard fourth-quarter drive that consumed 11 minutes, 45 seconds.
