Minnesota Duluth methodically dug itself out of a 2-0 first-period deficit and advanced to a regional final for the fourth year in a row. Captain Karson Kuhlman's goal at 6:38 of the second period got the Bulldogs started, and Nick Swaney tied it 2-2 on a power play late in the third. "There was no panic on our team, even in the first period,'' UMD coach Scott Sandelin said.

THREE STARS

1. Parker Mackay, Minnesota Duluth: Junior forward scored the winner, had three shots and was a plus-1.

2. Zeb Knutson, MSU Mankato: Back home in Sioux Falls, the senior forward scored 2:21 into the game. He also had a third-period shot hit the post.

3. Nick Swaney, Minnesota Duluth: Freshman tied the score with 4:08 to goal and had a goal waved off in overtime. Also had a game-high five shots.

THE QUOTE

"They'd been doing a good job of blocking shots all night, and I was just trying to fake it out and see if maybe there was a shot lane, and sure enough [there was]. Just trying to get a puck on net, and it went in.'' – Mackay on his OT winner.
