Mergers and acquisitions

Michael Foods, Minnetonka, has purchased the assets of Primera Foods, including egg product plants in Altura, Minn., and Britt, Iowa, where Primera produces value-added egg products.

BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Baudette, Minn., announced that it has completed the merger of its wholly owned subsidiary into ANIP Acquisition Co., dba ANI Pharmaceuticals. BioSante makes and markets seven prescription products that it either developed or acquired.

New Products

Anderson Windows, Bayport, has launched two free iPad apps that provide virtual versions of its popular line of Home Style Library pattern books. The apps give homeowners, architects, builders and remodelers resources to ­understand the elements of architectural style at any stage of the building ­process.

Utilities

Elk River Municipal Utilities, Elk River, is becoming the 12th member of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency. MMPA will consist of municipal utilities in Anoka, Arlington, Brownton, Buffalo, Chaska, East Grand Forks, Le Sueur, North St. Paul, Olivia, Shakopee, Winthrop and Elk River. The addition of Elk River will increase MMPA's electrical power load by approximately 20 percent.

Graco Inc., Minneapolis, was awarded the Gold Visionary Award by UBM ­Canon's Packaging Group Thursday night at the EastPack 2013 packaging industry trade show in Philadelphia.

Personnel

MTS Systems Corp., Eden Prairie, has added Chung Hung "Kenneth" Yu and David Johnson to its board of directors. Yu is vice president, global channel services and special projects, international operations of 3M Co. and Johnson is executive vice president and chief financial officer at Molex Inc.
