Way back in Week 1, Minneota began the football season with a 43-13 victory over Little Sioux Conference opponent Adrian. The season ended in similar fashion today at the Metrodome, with Minneota recording a 42-21 victory over Adrian in the Class 1A state title game.

The Vikings rolled up 403 yards of offense, with Sam Derynck completing nine of 11 passes for 159 yards and four touchdowns. Tony Noyes caught one TD pass and Will Kurka and Jesus Macias each caught one.

Adrian gained 111 yards on the ground and 55 passing. Brendan Kopplow ran 13 times for 56 yards for the Dragons.

Minneota finished with a record of 13-0 and Adrian is 10-2.

Next up is the 2A title game between Moose Lake-Willow River and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. and we should be pretty close to that come time to boot the ball.
