The Minnesota State Patrol said Callista Boe lost control of her Buick Regal in the southbound lanes and that the car hit the median guard rail. When Boe got out of her car, she was struck by a passing Toyota Camry.

The crash happened about 12:43 a.m.

The driver of the Camry, Faisal Aden, 28, of Albert Lea, Minn., suffered noncritical injuries.

Boe had two passengers in her car. Jason Erhardt, 35, of Owatonna, Minn., suffered noncritical injuries. Vincent Laforgia, 29, also of Owatonna, had no apparent injuries.

The patrol said alcohol use was detected in Boe. None was detected in Aden, it said.
