Minneapolis schools communications chief resigns

Another top executive has resigned from Minneapolis Public Schools.

Stan Alleyne, the district's chief communications officer, left the district earlier this month.

Alleyne's departure marks the third executive to leave the district since Interim Superintendent Michael Goar took over in February.

The district's lead attorney and its lobbyist resigned earlier this year.

Alleyne worked with the district for since 2008. He will now serve as a consultant at Tunheim, a Twin Cities based public relations firm, overseeing the organization's education and nonprofit work.

"Stan's passion for education and his extensive communications experience in large public school districts is an important addition to Tunheim's team of consulting professionals," said Kathy Tunheim, CEO of Tunheim in a news release.
