A 34-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested and charged Thursday for a shooting on June 25 in north Minneapolis that injured two adults and a 4-year-old boy.

Deontray Vershon Tate was charged with first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault, all of which are felonies.

Police said the three were shot as they sat in a sport-utility vehicle in the 3600 block of Penn Avenue N.

Most of the injuries were to the legs.

The complaint said witnesses saw a man later identified as Tate walk to the driver's side of the SUV from a nearby Quick Stop and fire several shots into the vehicle.

One of the victims told police that the shooting was in retaliation for a fight.
