A 23-year-old Minneapolis man was charged Friday by the Hennepin County attorney's office in connection with a Monday morning shooting at a North Side intersection that left one dead and another wounded, police said.

Nigeria Lee Harvey was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a weapon, both felonies, in connection with the shooting death of Omarr Deon Johnson, also 23.

Harvey is being held at the Hennepin County jail in lieu of $1 million bail. His mug shot remains held for investigative reasons, police said, but is expected to be released this weekend.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight on Monday near 34th and Morgan avenues N., where police said the occupants of two cars pulled over and began firing at each other. Johnson, who had no listed address, died from multiple gunshot wounds and was found near the intersection.
