Minneapolis attorney suspended for professional misconduct

A Minneapolis attorney was suspended from practicing for professional misconduct Thursday by the Minnesota Supreme Court.

While on disciplinary probation, Shannon Fitzpatrick cut and pasted a client's signature on a document with the person's knowledge, notarized the signature and filed the document with the district court. She was suspended for a minimum of a month and may be placed on probation for two years if reinstated.
The disciplinary action was ordered after the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility filed a petition with the court.
