Motorists who use I-35E just north of downtown St. Paul are likely to face delays as MnDOT patches pavement and fills potholes late Thursday morning and into the early afternoon. Lanes will be closed between Maryland Avenue and Cayuga Street

Starting at 11 a.m., the left lane of northbound side of I-35E will be closed. MnDOT plans to reopen the lane by noon.

Starting at 11 a.m., the right lane on the southbound side will be closed. That lane should reopen by 2 p.m.

It's all related to the ongoing work along 35E, which has is being reconstructed between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue. The project has included replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E. A new MnPASS lane is also being added between downtown St. Paul and Little Canada Road.
