Good times.

A Vikings stadium deal could get done as soon as today, according to sources. This ranges somewhere between the greatest news of all-time and the greatest swindle of all-time, depending on the comments you read on the story.

Regardless of the political ill-will that could be generated by solving the stadium issue one day before a potential government shutdown, and regardless of how we're paying for all this -- not that those things aren't important, they're just not what we're talking about here -- let's say:

*The Vikings deal gets done.

*The Timberwolves get their $150 million Target Center renovation.

*We already have recently opened MLB and college football stadiums that are almost universally praised.

*We have a still-wonderful NHL facility and a great college hockey arena.

Are you ready to crown the mid-market Twin Cities the Kings of Facilities? We would have gone from worst overall facilities situation 15 years ago to potentially best now, purely in terms of niceness/newness.
