We were lucky to find occurring in nature a perfect graphical representation of the relationship fans have had with the Twins in the past week. From the seething frustration and anger heading into and coming right out of the All-Star break, to the joy of gaining three games on the White Sox and Tigers in three days – the last via a euphoric Sunday comeback – to having games given right back against putrid Cleveland (the second bringing forth furious anger over THE BUNT) … well just as to watch Delmon Young in left field reminds us at times of a man on roller skates trying to get five cats off of his porch, the camel in that picture reminds us of the raw emotion of a Twins fan. That brings us to today's afternoon game. Getaway day – for some more than others since Gardy and Mauer are both out today – won't send emotions shooting up that second hump with a win. But it could send the angriest of the angry plunging into the camel's belly. As such, we need a good game of office baseball. *If Delmon Young produces out of the 3-hole, try not to get too used to it. *If Francisco Liriano lays an egg, feel free to float into free-fall over the pitching situation. *If Joe Mauer comes up in a key spot as a pinch hitter, try to remember he's a three-time batting champ. Hopefully, he will do the same. Also, if you hadn't noticed, via the Vikings, single-game tickets go on sale a week from today: Single-game ticket prices range from $39 – $143. Single-game tickets will be available for all preseason and regular season games with the exception of the Dallas (Oct.17) and the Green Bay (Nov. 21) games. The following two-game packages will also be on sale: • Dallas (Oct. 17) and Detroit (Sept. 26) • Green Bay (Nov. 21) and Denver (Sept. 2) Two-game packages range from $78 - $286. So Dallas is the new "other" team in the two-game situation along with Green Bay. Just so you know. Unless you think it's Detroit. Could be Detroit? No.
