Rep. Michele Bachmann's new leadership PAC made its first round of endorsements this afternoon, sending $1,000 to the five Republican congressional candidates in Minnesota.

Bachmann said last week that she hopes MICHELEPAC will send "constitutional conservatives" to Congress beginning with this fall's midterm elections. Given her fundraising abilities, that could mean a boost to a lot of Republican candidates across the country – though the PAC will be limited by the FEC's $5,000 donation limit.

Her donation to the five Republican candidates in Minnesota follows a similar move in late July by Gov. Tim Pawlenty. The candidates (and their incumbent challengers) are Joel Demos (Ellison), Teresa Collett (McCollum), Lee Byberg (Peterson), Chip Cravaack (Oberstar) and Randy Demmer (Walz).

MICHELEPAC's first filing within days of starting up showed donations totaling $10,000 from two anti-abortion groups, Susan B. Anthony List and the Campaign for Working Families.

In a fundraising pitch last month, Bachmann said they will not support "Beltway 'go-along' types."

"There clearly is a conservative wave building, and Michele PAC will only support candidates that have been personally vetted by me," Bachmann said. "No lobbyists and no Beltway "go-along" types. They'll have to prove to me that their only allegiance is to the Constitution and sound conservative policy."
