New information centers are appearing on Metro Transit buses.

Within the past couple weeks, the transit agency has started installing racks that put schedules, newsletters, notices about service disruptions, comment cards and promotions all in one place.

The displays immediately behind the bus driver have been installed on about 100 buses, and will be on about 525 buses in the coming months. That is about half of Metro Transit's fleet.

All new buses that are deployed will have the information centers, and Metro Transit says all buses will have the displays by 2016.
