A head-on crash Friday morning in Wadena County killed one man and hospitalized another with serious injuries.
Authorities say Randall Lee Hinz, 66, was traveling south on Hwy. 71 near Menahga, Minn., just after 9 a.m. when his sedan crossed the centerline and struck a northbound van. Hinz's vehicle skidded to the shoulder, while the van ran off the road and into a ditch, where it hit a tree.
Hinz, of Menahga, died at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt.
The other driver, later identified as 31-year-old Timothy Wade McKenna, was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with serious injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
