A memorial service for the late Sen. Linda Scheid, who succumbed to ovarian cancer Wednesday, will be held on June 28.
The longtime DFL legislator was 68.
According to party officials, the service, which will be open to the public, will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Brooklyn Park community center, 5600 85th Ave. N.
Among the refreshments served will be beer from the Surly Brewing company. Scheid was the author of the "Surly bill," which has become law and allows brewers in Minnesota to sell beer.
Scheid's obituary can be read here.
