A St. Paul bar with a history of licensing violations and a 2009 parking-lot stabbing was stripped of all its licenses by the City Council last week.
Mazatlan LLC, which operates Mazatlan at 567 Stryker Avenue, allowed its liquor liability insurance to lapse while it was operating under a stayed suspension imposed last fall, a city council resolution stated.
Prior resolutions show a troubled past. In February 2011, the bar was fined $1,000 for failing to properly screen patrons.
In October the city revoked the bar’s licenses for failing to hand over surveillance videos and viewing software.
Mazatlan appealed the decision and was allowed to operate while awaiting a court decision. The city's discovery of the insurance lapse led to last week's revocations.
