Forward Aaron Marvin, of Warroad, will serve as the team's captain, while defenseman Chris Hepp (Savage) and forward Garrett Roe (Vienna, Va.) have both been designated as alternate captains for the upcoming season at St. Cloud State University. Hepp is back for his third season on the SCSU blueline. Roe tied for the team's scoring lead with 49 points in 2009-10.

"One of the big turnovers on our team this season was the loss of a great three-year captain Garrett Raboin," Huskies coach Bob Motzko said. "Garrett was an outstanding leader for our team, but I am very confident in turning over the captain's duties to these three guys.

"They are loyal and hard working young men who really carry the spirit of this program. I am certain they will do a great job leading this team in 2010-11...we couldn't be in better hands."

Marvin served as an alternate team captain for the Huskies during the 2009-10 season. He had five goals and 11 assists last winter. A draft pick of the Calgary Flames, Marvin has earn All-WCHA academic honors in 2009 and 2010.

Hepp posted two assists for the Huskies during the 2009-10 season, and also earned All-WCHA academic and WCHA scholar-athlete notice during his junior season. He is a transfer from the Air Force Academy.

Roe will complete a storied career at SCSU in 2010-11. He led the Huskies with 20 goals and 29 assists during his junior campaign. He ranks fifth in team history with 142 points and 87 assists in his career. He ranks 10th in the team records with 55 career goals and sixth with 23 power play goals.

Roe earned All-WCHA third team honors in 2009 and 2010, and he gained All-WCHA second team and All-WCHA rookie team notice in 2008.

The trio played a major role in the success of the Huskies in 2009-10. SCSU was ranked #5/7 in the nation's final Division I college hockey polls. SCSU was 24-14-5 overall with a 15-9-4 third place mark in the WCHA. The Huskies placed second at the 2010 WCHA Final Five and SCSU advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2010 NCAA tournament.

The Huskies will open the 2010-11 season on Oct. 2 with an exhibition game at the National Hockey Center against the University of Manitoba. On Oct. 8-9, the Huskies will open the regular season with an appearance at the Mutual of Omaha Tournament in Omaha, Neb.

On Oct. 15-16, the Huskies will return to St. Cloud for the regular season home opener at the NHC against Miami (Ohio).
