Because we're sure plenty of you were wondering based on our post earlier this week, Gophers QB MarQueis Gray has accepted our Twitter challenge -- a race to 2,500 followers. It figures to be the best Twitter challenge we've sponsored since pitting Tim Brewster against Brian Cardinal (Brewster won) in a race to 1,500 followers. It is also the only challenge since then, but semantics -- right?

At the time the challenge was issued Monday, we had 2,172. We're plus-18 since then (give or take the Spammers of the Day) and currently stand at 2,190. Gray was at 2,076 (yeah, we tried to give ourself a fair shot) at the time, and he's already up to 2,112 (plus-36). At that rate, he'll pass us somewhere around 2,300 followers and coast to victory. Check that, he'll DOGGEDLY SPRINT TO THE FINISH AND CRUSH US WITH HIS TALENT AND WORK ETHIC. (Now Jerry Kill approves).

In any event, if you have a horse in the race and would like to see either of us win, spread the word. Thanks again to MarQueis for his participation.
