The Vikings are painfully aware of Brandon Marshall's effect on the present and near future of the Bears. But what Marshall is doing also threatens to rewrite Chicago's receiving history. Marshall is averaging 98.5 yards and 7.6 catches per game. If he maintains this pace, he will break Harlon Hill's 1956 franchise record for receiving yards per game (94.0) and Johnny Morris' 1964 mark for receptions per game (6.6).

The Packers' running back corps by committee might be getting another little-known member. DuJuan Harris, the former little-used Jaguar, was signed to the Packers' practice squad on Oct. 24 and promoted Dec. 1. He was active but didn't play against the Vikings last week. That could change this week against Detroit because James Starks suffered a knee injury last week. Harris has at least one important practice admirer. "I like him a lot," said quarterback Aaron Rodgers. "I think he really brings an extra gear."

Kicker Jason Hanson is in his 22nd season with the Lions and yet even he hasn't experienced a victory at Lambeau Field. That's right, the Lions haven't won in the state of Wisconsin since Dec. 15, 1991, Hanson's senior year in college. The Lions have lost 18 consecutive times at Lambeau Field, including a 1994 playoff game, and three times at Milwaukee County Stadium.
