An 89-year-old woman died Wednesday after the car she was in collided with another just west of Mankato in Blue Earth County, according to the State Patrol.
Dorothy Violet Paulson was a passenger in a 2002 Buick Park Avenue being driven by Sheryl Lynn Paulson, 55, of Mankato, that collided with a 2017 Hyundai Sonata just before 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hwys. 169 and 60. Dorothy Paulson was taken to a hospital, where she died. Sheryl Paulson was hospitalized with noncritical injuries, the patrol reported.
The driver of the Hyundai, Judith Ann Lillie, 72, and her passenger, Gloria Pena Montez, 70, both of Houston, Texas, were also taken to a hospital with noncritical injuries.
Roads were wet at the time, the patrol said. Everyone was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor, the report said.
