A motorist who was allegedly drunk crashed into an Amish buggy Thursday in northwestern Minnesota and is in jail awaiting charges, authorities said.

The 38-year-old motorist's blood alcohol content was .23 percent, three times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle, when he was arrested, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said.

The man was driving on County Road 8 (610th Avenue) when he drove into the back of the buggy about 6 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said. Five people were riding in the buggy, including four children under age 5. One of the children suffered minor injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
