A man left behind friends at a St. Cloud apartment and was later seen swimming and diving in the nearby Sauk River, only to have his body pulled from the water Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said that the "unresponsive and blue" body of Daniel L. Snively, 55, of St. Cloud, was brought to shore by friends about 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

The Sheriff's Office said in a statement that it does not suspect foul play and that alcohol "may have contributed" to Snively's death.
