Hennepin County sheriff's deputies recovered a man's body from the Mississippi River near the Lake Street-Marshall Avenue Bridge on Thursday afternoon.
According to a news release, deputies searching the river found the body at 4 p.m.
The Ramsey County medical examiner's office will release the man's name and official cause of death after an autopsy.
Although the body has not been officially identified, an active search had been underway for a 22-year-old University of Minnesota student who went missing in the area last week.
Christopher Stanley was swept into St. Anthony Falls last week from a ledge above the falls where he and a friend had been sitting.
