A man found shot to death in his car late Wednesday in downtown Minneapolis has been identified as Abdirahman H. Haji-Ahmed, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.
Haji-Ahmed, 26, died of multiple gunshot wounds in the 200 block of 12th Avenue S. just before midnight Wednesday.
Officers responding to a 911 call found him dead. Police said they had no information about a possible suspect.
The victim had recently posted photos of himself holding a large wad of cash on his Facebook page.
Haji-Ahmed’s death is not believed to be linked to a series of shootings of young Somali men in the metro area this year, said Abdirizak Bihi, a well-known Somali community member. He said he spoke to friends of Haji-Ahmed’s on Thursday and they didn’t believe that he was affiliated with the Somali gangs that have been blamed for the killings.
