Minneapolis police responded to a 911 call Sunday afternoon and found a man's body in a garage on the 3700 block of Aldrich Ave. N., according to Corey Schmidt, spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department.

The man had significant head trauma, Schmidt said, when police arrived to the McKinley neighborhood about 4:30 p.m. A second man who was in the alley near the garage was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by paramedics for a nonlife-threatening leg injury, police said. That man is being questioned in connection with the death.

Officers from the Fourth Precinct were canvassing neighbors near the scene, talking with community members and looking for witnesses. Anyone with information about the death is encouraged to talk with officers in the neighborhood or contact the Fourth Precinct desk. People may also call the MPD TIP Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).

The death is the city's fourth homicide of 2017.
