Brooklyn Center man charged with receiving $1.5 million in marijuana

A Brooklyn Center man was charged in Hennepin County Monday with receiving a shipment of marijuana with a street value of $1.5 million.

Police were tipped off to Steven L. Yang, 26, of Brooklyn Center, on New Year's Day after warehouse workers discovered a large amount of suspected marijuana hidden in a produce shipment from California addressed to him, the charge said. He was arrested when he tried to pick up the contraband.
