An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting Monday at a Metro Transit Green Line station that injured another man, transit officials said.

The injured man was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, according to transit spokesman Howie Padilla.

Metro Transit police were called about 4:30 p.m. to the Dale Street station in St. Paul. Witnesses reported hearing two bursts of what sounded like gunfire as a westbound train approached the station. No one on the train was injured andpolice are continuing to investigate.

Train service between Hamline and Western was stopped after the shooting and buses were added to accommodate light rail riders. Green Line trains were running again by 7 p.m.

The shooting was separate from a nearby fatal shooting near St. Albans Street and Fuller Avenue two hours earlier, St. Paul police said.
