Man admits using Facebook to solicit Crystal Little Leaguers for sex

A Minneapolis man has admitted to contacting young baseball players in Crystal through Facebook seeking to have sex with the boys.

Michael F. Hamer, 44, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Hennepin County District Court to soliciting children for sex. Hamer's sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16.

It was a police sting in late July that nabbed Hamer.

The mother of a Crystal Little League player told police that her son and others on his team received Facebook friend requests from a man they didn't know named "Michael Hammer." She said the man also texted some of the boys.

Police found the man's Facebook profile, then created a phony Facebook for a 12-year-old Crystal Little Leaguer who sent a friend request to Hamer that was accepted.

A meeting was arranged at Becker Park for a sexual encounter. Officers went there and arrested Hamer.
