Not bad for a game that was over after just a quarter, huh?

Or so it seemed.

Trailing 30-11 before first quarter's end, the Wolves got themselves back into the game with a second quarter run and then improbably forced a first overtime on Corey Brewer's 50-foot desperation heave at the fourth-quarter buzzer and forced a second overtime on Wayne Ellington's three in the first OT's final nine seconds.

So much happened in those 63 minutes.

Here are some of the more noteworthy things:

* Al Jefferson's 26-point, 26-rebound game broke Kevin Garnett's franchise record for most rebounds in a game by one rebound. Garnett grabbed 25 in a game twice.

Al became just the ninth player in the last 15 years to produce a game of at least 25 points and 25 rebounds. Dwight Howard was the last to do so, with a 30-point, 25-rebound game at Golden State on 1/10/2007.

Garnett is the only other Timberwolf to do so: He had 33 points and 25 rebounds at Sacramento on 12/5/2003.

* This was the first triple OT game in the franchise's 1648 games. It also was the first this season in the NBA and the first since two were played two seasons ago.

Big Al's 23 defensive rebounds are the most by any NBA player since Garnett had 23 against Orlando on 1/12/2005.

* Kevin Love played only about two minutes in the three overtimes, seemingly because Kurt Rambis went with a small lineup -- Jefferson, Brewer, Ellington, Gomes and Flynn -- to match the Rockets' own small lineup.

* Ellington's 17 points were by one point a career high. Of course, this also is his rookie season. He also had 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 turnovers.

* I asked Rambis before the game if Jonny Flynn is hitting some of that proverbial rookie wall and he dismissed the notion. But it sure is looking like it: A week ago, he went 1-for-11 against the Warriors in a 4-assist, 4-turnover game. Monday, he went 2 for 12, had one assists, two turnovers and eight points in 30 minutes at Denver. And tonight he was 3 for 13 with six assists, three turnovers and a couple steals in 42 1/2 minutes.

That's all I got from Houston tonight. Need some sleep. Wolves flew to Memphis after the game and even after that marathon tonight, Rambis has scheduled a 2 p.m. practice tomorrow.

For now, here's the final game story from tonight, with quotes:
