Quarterback Samson Bialostok rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another as Macalester defeated St. Norbert 21-13 Saturday to clinch the Northern Division title in the Midwest Conference.

Macalester (8-1) will play Illinois College, which won the Southern Division, next Saturday in Jacksonville, Ill. The winner of that game will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament.

After playing an independent schedule for 12 years, Macalester joined the Midwest Conference as a football-only member this season. It is a member of the MIAC in other sports. The school's last football title came in 1947, when it shared the MIAC championship with St. Thomas.

The Scots have won seven games in a row, the longest single-season streak in school history. Macalester last won six straight games in 1950.

Macalester lost 50 straight games from 1974-80, an NCAA record that stood until it was broken by Prairie View A&M in the mid-1990s.
