The United States women's basketball team's gold medal victory Saturday in London resonated back at Lynx headquarters in Minneapolis -- and for good reason. Three of the 12 players on the team, of course, play for the defending WNBA champions. Lynx Executive Vice President Roger Griffith congratulated Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore and Lindsay Whalen on the accomplishment.

"As an organization, we were captivated by the play of the USA women during the Olympics, and our three players did an excellent job representing themselves, their country, their family and the Lynx organization," Griffith said. "We look forward to celebrating their return to Minnesota."

All three players are slated to address the Twin Cities media on Wednesday. The first-place Lynx (15-4) resume their season Friday at Target Center against Washington (4-14) after more than a month off for the Olympic break.
