Lynx star guard Lindsay Whalen has become the first WNBA player to hit a starry milestone.

Whalen is the first player in league history to score 5,000 points, have 2,000 assists and 1,500 rebounds, hitting the points mark Thursday night against Connecticut.

Whalen was averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds through 18 games. She is in her 13th season and seventh with the Lynx, averaging 12.2 points, 5.1 assists, four rebounds and one assist per game throughout her career.

She scored 11 points, had four assists and four rebounds Tuesday in the Lynx 87-82 victory against Chicago.

The former Gophers women's basketball standout from Hutchinson, Minn., was No. 15 on the WNBA's all-time scoring list with 4,996 points entering Thursday's game, was third on the all-time assist list with 2,095 and her 1,635 rebounds are ranked 30th. She is a five-time All-Star and three-time WNBA champion.
