Rebekkah Brunson, a 6-2 forward for the Lynx in her seventh WNBA season, averaged a double-double last season (11.3 points and 10.3 rebounds) and is on a pace to duplicate that.

Brunson has six double-doubles in as many games. That ties the WNBA record held by two Los Angeles Sparks players, Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker.

She can break that record with another double-double at Seattle on Friday. If Brunson does get her seventh double-double, that would tie the WNBA record for most double-doubles during a season which was set by Seattle's Lauren Jackson in 2003. The 6-5 Storm center, ironically, won't play against the Lynx which should help Brunson to score more points and get more rebounds.

Jackson has a strained left hip from Tuesday when she collided with Tulsa's 6-8 rookie center Liz Cambage.

Brunson's six-game double-double streak:

June 2 at Los Angeles/ 10 pts., 12 rebs.

June 5 vs. Los Angeles/ 10 pts., 15 rebs.

June 7 vs. Tulsa / 17 pts., 15 rebs.

June 17 vs. Atlanta/ 18 points, 14 rebs.

LYNX DROPPINGS

* The Lynx are 5-1, which ties their best start in the team's 13-year history. Minnesota was also 5-1 in 2008 and the Lynx won their next game, too, to go 6-1. But then they lost five in a row to fall to 6-6.

* The team's longest winning streak in one season is six in 2004 (7/9 to 7/22). It's longest winnnig streak over two seasons is seven (8/16/07 to 6/3/08). The Lynx won their last two games in 2007 and their first five in 2008,

* Minnesota's best record in June was 7-3 in 2009; the team's most wins in June came in 2000 when the Lynx were 8-5.
