A man thought to be responsible for three illegal incidents involving young girls at city bus stops in the past two weeks has become the focus of a police search, with authorities asking the public to help find him. In two of the cases, the man exposed himself to the girls.

He's described as a Hispanic male, 5'6" to 5'10" tall, with a medium to heavy build. He was described as having bushy eyebrows and acne on his forehead. He wore a black ski mask over the lower half of his face in each incident, according to police. He spoke English with a Spanish accent.

The man drives a full-sized, metallic brown SUV with tinted windows. It may have red dice hanging from the rear view mirror. Its license plate is from Minnesota, with the letter "B" and possibly two "6's." One victim heard loud music playing in the vehicle.

Investigators believe the man did the following:

  • A man approached a 9-year-old girl waiting at a bus stop Feb. 13 at 8:30 a.m. near 11th Avenue North and Van White Memorial Boulevard North. He exposed himself while committing an indecent act.
  • A man approached a 15-year-old girl waiting at a bus stop Feb. 14 at 8 a.m. near 18th Avenue South and 27th Street East. The man exposed himself. The girl screamed but the man stayed nearby for about a minute, leaving when other kids approached the bus stop.
  • A man in a vehicle approached a 12-year-old girl waiting at a bus stop Feb. 24 at 8:30 a.m. near 22nd Street East and Oakland Avenue South. The man stopped his vehicle and stared at the girl, then yelled at her to get in. When she said no he said he would come get her and then got out of his SUV. She ran away, losing him as he trailed in his vehicle by running through yards.

In each instance he was seen driving by at least once before he approached the girls, according to police.

Anyone who can provide information about these cases is asked to call Officer Eric Faulconer of the Minneapolis Police Department's Sex Crimes unit at 612-673-2913.
