4 MIAs who finally are coming home to rest

The remains of four men, who long were listed as missing in action, will return to Minnesota in July, according to the Patriot Guard, which will lead each escort when they arrive.

Army Staff Sergeant Gerald Jacobsen of Little Canada, died July 15, 1944, in France during World War II and will be returned July 13 or 14.

Marine Sgt. James Hubert of Duluth died Nov. 21, 1943, on the Pacific island of Betio in the battle of Tarawa during World War II and will be returned July 14.

Army Pfc. Charles Follese of Grand Forks, N.D., died Nov. 30, 1950, in the Korean War and will be returned July 25.

Navy Fireman 1st Class Elmer Kerestes of Holdingford, Minn., died Dec. 7, 1941, when his ship, the USS Oklahoma, was attacked in Pearl Harbor. His remains will be returned July 27.

Navy Fireman 3rd Class Glaydon Iverson, who grew up in Emmons, Minn., also died Dec. 7, 1941, when the USS Oklahoma was attacked. He was returned to Minnesota in May and escorted to Lake Mills, Iowa.
