Long list for the Orange Prize announced

Emma Donoghue, Anne Enright, Jaimy Gordon, Erin Morgenstern in the running for the prize that honors women's writing.

Oh dear. Who to root for?

This year's long list of Orange Prize nominees contains a whole bunch of favorites, a whole bunch of wonderful books, a whole bunch of books that I'm longing to read. I guess that's the idea.

The Orange Prize for Fiction celebrates women's writing around the world. The short list will be announced April 17, and the winner will be announced at the end of May.
