Once again promising to be as informative as it is entertaining, this weekend's Minnesota Music Summit snagged a grade-A music biz specialist as a keynote speaker: Cracker and Camper Beethoven frontman David Lowery, also now a professor at the University of Georgia, will speak about digital-age issues noon Friday at McNally Smith College of Music's Auditorium. He will be followed by seminars and mentoring sessions Friday and Saturday afternoon, plus shows Friday night with Toki Wright and Big Cats and Saturday night with the Big Wu at the Amsterdam Bar & Hall. A new experimental music and visual "installation" that literally covers all corners of Icehouse — the musicians roam around the room — Tuesday's installment of the In.Migration series will feature ringleaders James Everest (Lateduster), DeVon Gray and Ben Durrant with a wowza guest list including Martin Dosh, Jayanthi Kyle, Chastity Brown, Sarah White and Jacqueline Ultan (10 p.m., free). … Organ-laced psychedelic band the Electric Circus is this month's Minneseries host holding court every Thursday in April at the Nomad Pub (10 p.m., free). …

After appearing on tracks with Bobby Raps and Muja Messiah (the latter is his dad), 20-year-old rap prodigy Nazeem comes into his own on his new album with fellow MC and Southwest High grad Spencer Joles. It's complexly titled "The Album" and features cameos by P.O.S. and Muja. Release party is Thursday at 7th Street Entry (10 p.m., $8-$10.) … Bobby Raps and his fellow Audio Perm alum DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip landed on Friday's Red Bull promo lineup with breakout Atlanta rapper Father at the Cabooze (9 p.m., $3, RedBullSoundSelect.com). …

Summer's first pavement shindig — and often one of the best — the Memory Lanes Block Party announced a stellar 20-band lineup that includes Mixed Blood Majority, Eric Mayson, Little Fevers and Bones & Beeker on May 28 and the Legendary Shack Shakers, Crankshaft and Fury Things on May 29. And then only 198 more block parties till fall.
