A filmmaker we've never heard of is heading to a film fest we've never heard of to premiere his documentary about the band that Jon Bon Jovi famously said he'd never heard of: "Color Me Obsessed" will make its debut March 27 at the Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa, Fla. Gorman Bechard's film centers on the myths and cult around the Replacements and features interviews with the likes of Colin Meloy, Craig Finn and Tommy Ramone but none of the 'Mats. It will also screen locally May 4 in the Sound Unseen fest (which we have heard of). ...

As often happens come March -- when the ski slopes are still packed with snow, but not people -- Papa Charlie's at Lutsen Ski Resort on the North Shore has some interesting concerts: The Suburbs will play Saturday and the Gear Daddies March 19, both cheaper than when they're in town ($14-$18). Tickets at www.Lutsen.com. ... A Fleetwood Mac tribute night wouldn't normally be something I'd willingly publicize, but I'm curious to hear what Vampire Hands, Me & My Arrow and the Nightinghales do with those songs Saturday night at the Turf Club (10 p.m., $7). The show also features Invisible Boy, a new side project of VH's Chris Bierden. ... So much for the Loring Theater being a quiet, relaxed listening room: The STNNNG storm the former home of "Triple Espresso" on St. Paddy's Day night. The show will feature a meat raffle and video montage by Emily Kaplan (8 p.m., $13). ...

Monday's installment focuses on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (9 p.m.). ... Two of the girls from the Current, Mary Lucia and Melanie Walker, will broadcast reports from the South by Southwest Music Conference next week and co-host NPR's party (live at NPR.org) with the Antlers, Wild Flag and more buzz bands. The Current is also sponsoring a day gig at the Austin Convention Center with P.O.S. and DeVotchKa. ...

Both P.O.S. and Dessa were named to Prefix magazine's list of the 10 must-see rappers at SXSW. There will certainly be plenty of chances to see P.O.S. at the fest, since he's performing with Astronautalis under the moniker Four Fists along with Gayngs (the latter is also a Dessa joint). ... It looks as if Tapes 'n Tapes can be declared the winner for landing the biggest -- or at least best-catered -- day-party gig among local bands during SXSW. The quartet was announced in the lineup for TV foodie Rachael Ray's Feedback shindig. ...

At last count, there are 36 acts with Minnesota ties playing sanctioned nighttime SXSW showcases. Never better.
