Allete Clean Energy, Duluth, completed construction of the 43-turbine Thunder Spirit wind farm about 100 miles southwest of Bismarck, N.D., and has sold it for $200 million to Montana-Dakota Utilities, a utility serving parts of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. The 107-megawatt wind farm, the first to be built by Allete Clean Energy, will produce enough electricity to power about 30,000 homes.

Patents

3M Co., Maplewood, and Zirkonzahn SRL and Zirkonzahn Deutschland GmbH, have settled a patent infringement lawsuit that involved 3M's technology that enables dimensionally precise sintering of dental ceramics. As a result of the settlement, the German companies will license the patented technology from 3M to the end of the patent protection period.
