MTS Systems Corp., Eden Prairie, has acquired Roehrig Engineering Inc., Lexington, N.C., a maker of testing systems using electric and electromagnetic actuation technology. MTS paid about $15 million; the price could increase by $2 million if Roehrig achieves certain sales goals.
NEW BUSINESS
Medtronic Inc., Fridley, announced the launch of HealthRise, a five-year, $17 million philanthropic effort to support community-based demonstration projects designed to expand access to care and management of chronic, noncommunicable diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
