The Stillwater Lift Bridge will begin its full-time summer lift schedule on April 20, allowing St. Croix River boats to pass beneath it at regular intervals. The schedule will remain in effect until about Oct. 15, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said Thursday.

The bridge is staffed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekends and holidays.

Visit www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/liftbridge/schedule.html for more information on the bridge and the lift schedule.

The 1931 two-lane bridge ferries interstate traffic to St. Croix County, Wis. Starting in spring 2018, the bridge will undergo a transformation into a bicycle/pedestrian path after a new four-lane bridge opens at Oak Park Heights.

The converted Lift Bridge will continue to operate to accommodate boat navigation.
