WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — A Wisconsin Rapids police lieutenant is being held on $20,000 cash bond following a court appearance on possible child enticement charges.

Forty-one-year-old Steven Lowe resigned from the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department following his arrest Wednesday. Authorities say Lowe was being held on possible charges of child enticement, using a computer to facilitate a sex crime and child exploitation.

During a court appearance Thursday in Wood County, Lowe said he voluntarily talked to investigators. The Daily Tribune Media (http://wrtnews.co/13BaTaT ) reports court documents say Lowe is accused of impersonating a teenage girl online to try to get juvenile boys to send him nude pictures.

It wasn't immediately clear if Lowe has retained an attorney. Wood County Clerk of Courts Cynthia Cepress says a special prosecutor has not yet been appointed.
