Duluth - Junior Amanda Leveille stopped 26 shots as the Gophers beat Minnesota Duluth 3-0 on Friday in WCHA women's hockey at Amsoil Arena. The shutout was the 17th of her career.

"I'm really happy with the win," Gophers coach Brad Frost said. "We started a little slow here tonight and had our moments where we had a few lulls, but overall we really gutted it out, going into the third with a 1-0 lead. To get two goals to ice it was big."

Sophomore Dani Cameranesi, who also had two assists, gave the No. 1-rated Gophers a 1-0 lead at 15:40 of the opening period with four seconds left in a power play.

Minnesota (3-0, 1-0 WCHA) came into the series 6-for-9 on the power play, an NCAA-best 66.7 percent, and went 2-for-3 to stay at the same pace. The Gophers' penalty killers were 2-for-2 to remain perfect on 14 chances.

Hannah Brandt gave the visitors a 2-0 lead halfway through the third period and then scored again, on a power play with 1:15 left.

This was the Gophers' 12th victory in a row over the Bulldogs (1-3-1, 0-3).
