Having been a sports enthusiast through my many years, I too am disappointed in the rather dismal performances by our Minnesota teams, the Lynx excluded, but where the Vikings are concerned, it would appear that quarterback Christian Ponder has become the whipping boy for all their failures thus far.
Granted, he’s certainly been part of the problem, but he wasn’t on the field when both Chicago and Cleveland scored game-winning touchdowns with less than a minute on the clock. It seems the defense had a little something to do with that … but I digress.
After reading C.J.’s Sept. 24 column (“Tweets to quarterback’s wife put Twit in Twitter”), I really have to question what certain members of our society can be thinking when they feel it necessary to take their hurts and disappointments over Vikings failures out on Ponder’s wife.
Criticize Christian if you wish if that makes you feel better, but, for crying out loud, leave the poor woman alone. If Vikings losses are the biggest disappointment you ever experience in your lives, you will indeed have an exceptional run.
