Have you ever been killed or maimed in a horrific car crash? Me, neither. And I'd like to keep it that way -- for me, for you, for our passengers, for innocent people in or on other vehicles, as well as for pedestrians.

If you're a tailgater, stop it! Seeing how close you can get to another vehicle is suicidal. And if you're tailgating to signal that you'd like to pass, use your horn or headlights.

If you're paying attention to your cell phone at the same time that you're driving, stop it! It's impossible to focus on two things at once. If you must text or make phone calls, pull over first. It's only funny until ... you alter your life or the lives of others irreversibly.

Driving is a serious business. If you're not willing to take that job seriously, shove over! Hand over your keys and let someone else drive instead.
